Lower School Dress Code

Clayton-Bradley Academy aims to have students present themselves in a neat and professional manner and as representatives of the school.

We recognize the uniqueness of each student and seek to support their individuality,

but it is important for each student to understand the concept of appropriate dress for particular situations.

SHOES

  • Boys: Tennis shoes, lace up shoes, or dock-style shoes preferably school colors.
  • Girls: Tennis shoes, lace up shoes, or dock-style shoes preferably school colors.

SOCKS/TIGHTS/LEGGINGS

*Socks or tights must be worn at all times

  • Boys: Solid color socks only in school colors (white, black, brown/khaki, burgundy or grey)
  • Girls: Leggings/tights/socks must be plain (no patterns/embellishments) in school colors (white, black, brown/khaki, burgundy, grey, light yellow)

BOTTOMS

  • Boys: Solid-colored pants in khaki, black or grey, no sweat/athletics pants, blue jeans or cargo shorts/pants
  • Girls: Solid-colored pants, capris, skirts, or skorts in khaki, black or grey; skort or skirt may also be in school plaid and must be no more than 2 inches above the knee. No sweat/athletics/yoga pants, blue jeans or cargo pants.

TOPS

  • Boys: short or long-sleeved solid-colored polo shirts, oxford-style shirts, turtlenecks, v-neck, crewneck or cardigan sweaters in school colors (white, khaki, black, burgundy, light yellow or grey). Solid, school-colored t-shirts may be worn under any of the above.
  • Girls: short or long-sleeved solid-colored polo shirts, oxford-style shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, v-neck, crewneck or cardigan sweaters in school colors (white, khaki, black, burgundy, light yellow or grey). Solid, school-colored t-shirts may be worn under any of the above.
    Note: Sweatshirts/Hoodies are only appropriate for Casual Fridays or Outerwear only.

HAIR/HATS

Hats are not to be worn indoors. Students must be clean and groomed at all times. Hair should not be dyed in unnatural colors. Hair accessories in school colors only.

JEWELRY

Make-up and jewelry should be minimal, worn in good taste and not distracting to others. Piercings must be limited to ear piercing.

OUTERWEAR

Student coats, jackets, sweaters, fleece, sweatshirts, hats, rain/snow boots should be black, grey, burgundy, white, or light yellow.

CASUAL FRIDAY ATTIRE

The following exceptions are permitted on casual days:

  • Blue jeans that look clean and neat in appearance
  • Clayton-Bradley t-shirts or sweatshirts/hoodies.

FIELD STUDY ATTIRE

Appropriate clothing for each trip will be specified by the teacher and communicated to students and parents.
