Stacie Hutchinson

Pre-School Instructor

Stacie Hutchinson was born and raised on the Jersey Shore where she enjoyed crabbing, boating, walking on the boardwalk and time on the beach. She spent many days after school in her mother’s classroom where she helped and learned classroom management and preschool curriculum activities. From this experience she found an interest in teaching. She began attending college for education, and as she progressed in her studies, she was introduced to speech pathology. She then realized this was the area she desired to persue. She became interested in aiding children in verbal, processing, and cognitive skill areas. She felt that being a teacher of speech and language would be very rewarding since these areas are crucial for children to achieve success as they move through their grade levels in school.

Stacie graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1998 with a BA in Audiology and Speech Pathology. She continued at UTK in the speech and language masters program, while also attending additional classes for Aural rehabilitation. Stacie completed her coursework and clinicals in 2000 and received her masters degree that year. Following graduation, she worked for a private practice in order to expand her skills for individuals ranging from infancy to geriatrics. Stacie worked under a licensed SLP for a nine month residency. At the end of the nine months, she earned her CCC’s (certification of clinical competence). She continued in private practice as a speech-language pathologist, MA/CCC-SLP.

During Stacie’s career she has worked in many settings such as: home health care, hospitals, nursing home, rehabilitation, and schools. Stacie traveled to several Blount county schools in order to aid children grades PreK to 5th with their speech and language skills. Stacie was excited to join the CBA staff originally as the speech-language pathologist. Now, she is the teacher of the 5-day preschool class. Stacie loves teaching preschool at CBA!
